Everything Contributed to the Downfall of Feudalism

“Except for the Kitchen Sink!”

Groups of students had to create metaphors that compared something involved in the decline of feudalism in Europe to something found in the kitchen. Below are samples from each of the posters the students made.

(If you can find the one your group came up with it, you can illustrate it with a small picture. Please make sure that you are not posting a picture of something that has already been posted. Pictures may be something Medieval or something found in the kitchen.)

Egg beaters are cannons because an egg beater cracks eggs and a cannon cracks castle walls.

The Black Death is smelly cheese because they both led to the decline of something whether it is your appetite or feudalism. Plus, they both make you sick.

Armor is a fridge because it is used to protect the body inside, and a fridge protects the food inside.

The Magna Carta is a cheese grater because a cheese grater limits cheese and the Magna Carta limits power.

A blender is a manor because when a blender mixes everything it turns out good. A manor has peasants, nobles and knights that contribute to make life good.

Taxes are spoiled milk because nobody likes them.

A cabinet is nationalism because a cabinet keeps all of the kitchen supplies together while nationalism keeps all the people together.

Tupperware is like armor because they both protect what’s inside.

A longbow is a spork because a spork is an advancement on a spoon and a fork just like a longbow is an advancement on a crossbow.

Feifs are wishbones because people fight over the wishbone just like the French and the English fought over Crecy.

The Pope is soda because if you shake soda, it will explode and if you got the Pope mad, you would get excommunicated.

Feudalism is a clock because after a long time feudalism fell.

A survivor is a food scrap because it does not get eaten or killed by the military or the cook.

There is at least one quote from everyone's poster. Mr. Chester
